Export sops to be rolled back from Oct 1

Sops given to exporters are likely to be rolled back from 1 October, Commerce Secretary Gopal K Pillai said today. This includes interest rate subvention on pre and post export credit as well as the hiked Draw Back and Duty Entitlement Pass Book Scheme (DEPB) rates, which were announced in various phases last year to help exporters cushion losses arising out of a rapidly appreciating rupee against the dollar. However, service tax exemption extended to exporters will continue. – www.business-standard.com
